1. Introduction
Welcome to Widget Calendar ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency about how we handle your information.
Widget Calendar does not require login or account creation. You can use all features of the app without providing any personal information.
2. Information We Collect
Information You Provide: We do not collect any personal information directly from you, as our app does not require login or registration.
Automatically Collected Information: We use Firebase Analytics to collect limited, anonymous diagnostic and usage data to improve our app:
- Device Identifiers: Anonymous, non-resettable instance IDs assigned by Firebase. We do not use the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA).
- Crash Data: Information about app crashes to help us fix bugs.
- Performance Data: App performance metrics to optimize user experience.
- Usage Diagnostics: Anonymous, aggregated usage patterns (e.g., which widget sizes are used, which features are tapped) to understand how features are used.
This data is not linked to your identity and is used solely to improve app functionality and stability.
We do not use any advertising SDKs, third-party trackers, or share data with advertisers. The app contains no ads.
3. Calendar and Reminders Access
Widget Calendar uses Apple's EventKit framework to access your device's calendar and reminders. This allows you to:
- View your calendar events and reminders in widgets and inside the app
- Create, edit, complete, and manage events and reminders directly from the app or widget
Access is granted only after you explicitly approve the system permission prompts. You can revoke access at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Calendars / Reminders.
Your calendar and reminder data is processed entirely on your device. We do not transmit, store, or have access to your calendar events or reminders on our servers.
4. Data Storage
Local Storage: App settings, preferences, and your custom anniversaries are stored locally on your device.
iCloud Sync (Optional): If you choose to enable iCloud sync, your anniversaries and related app data are synchronized across your devices using Apple's CloudKit. This data is stored in your private iCloud container under your Apple ID and is not accessible to us. You can disable iCloud sync at any time within the app settings or in iOS Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud.
Calendar & Reminder Data: Calendar events and reminders themselves are managed by iOS and Apple's iCloud Calendar/Reminders service if you have enabled them. Widget Calendar only reads and writes through Apple's EventKit framework and does not maintain a separate copy on our infrastructure.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics (Google LLC): For anonymous usage analytics and crash reporting. Data is processed on Google's servers, primarily located in the United States. Learn more at Firebase Privacy and Security and Google Privacy Policy.
We do not sell your data and we do not share data with any third parties other than the service providers listed above for the limited purposes described in this policy.
6. Data Retention
On-device data remains on your device for as long as you keep the app installed. Uninstalling the app removes all local data. iCloud-synced data is governed by your iCloud account settings.
Firebase Analytics data is retained for up to 14 months from collection, after which it is automatically deleted, in accordance with Google's default retention settings. Aggregated, non-identifying statistics may be retained for longer.
7. Push Notifications
Widget Calendar may send local push notifications to remind you of upcoming anniversaries and events. Notifications are generated on your device and are not sent through our servers. This feature is optional and can be disabled at any time through iOS Settings > Notifications > Widget Calendar.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding the limited analytics data described above:
- Right to access the data we hold about you.
- Right to rectify inaccurate data.
- Right to deletion of your data.
- Right to object to or restrict processing.
- Right to data portability.
Because we do not collect personal identifiers, we may need additional information to locate any data associated with your device. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the email address below. We will respond within a reasonable time and in accordance with applicable law (including the EU GDPR, UK GDPR, and California CCPA/CPRA).
You can also stop all data collection by uninstalling the app from your device.
9. International Data Transfers
If you use the app from outside the United States, please be aware that the limited analytics data described in Section 2 may be transferred to and processed in the United States by Google. By using the app, you consent to such transfer where applicable. Google maintains appropriate safeguards (including Standard Contractual Clauses) for such transfers.
10. Children's Privacy
Widget Calendar is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us so we can promptly delete it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you within the app. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
